We start this episode by reading a couple reviews and giving away some books. Then (9:00) Joel talks about his daughter, Eowyn, turning 13. She had the best birthday party. It included a giant slip-n-slide, and slip-n-slide kickball. (16:34) Elyse created a game using dumb laws and Jess and Joel have to guess what is a real law and what is fake. (28:42) Katie Orr joins Jess and talks about her books and closes out with a good word on love.

We start this episode by reading a great review from Matthew Pierce (@ongreenmountain on Twitter). (9:15) Then we talk about how the podcast started. (17:13) After that we spend a considerable amount of time talking about the Amish. (30:00) Lastly, mom gives us a mess of a devotional. It actually isn’t her fault this time. The recording is not great and Joel and Jessica keep laughing and interrupting. Sorry about that.

Our friend Scott Kieth from @thinkingfellows joins us for a bonus episode. We sat outside on the back porch and talked about his book Being Dad Father as a Picture of God’s Grace. Joel has sung the praises of this book for about three months and now you get to hear directly from the author.

Erik Guzman @ErikGuzman joins us today. We talk about the Florida Man phenomenon. During this segment we talk about something that might or might not be over the line. We are horrible judges of this so we let you make the decision. Jess will jump in when it is about to happen so that you can skip forward if you need to. (20:15) Then Erik talks about his book The Seed: A True Myth. (36:20) He finishes the podcast off with a devotional on John 17 that you don’t want to miss.

In this episode Elyse introduces Jess and Joel to a Top Ten Superhero Movie List. Then Joel talks about a documentary called Chuck Norris vs. Communism (17:40). Then they transition into a devotional time where they talk about how none of us are the true superhero (27:20). Joel centers in on Jonah.

(8:22) Then James, Michelle, and Ruth join us for a brief segment to air their grievances against us. We don’t give them much time.
